Marine Light. Reflections. Stories in Oil
I began painting in my seventies — not as a pastime, but as a new chapter.
After two demanding careers built on discipline and responsibility, I found myself drawn to something deeper: capturing light, water, and memory in oil.
Living in Gloucester, Virginia, beside the Chesapeake Bay and the York River, I’m surrounded daily by what inspires me most — reflections on moving water, working boats, dramatic skies, Navy ships, marshes, and quiet shoreline moments. Water has character. It carries history. It reflects both strength and stillness. That tension fascinates me.
Before this chapter, I served twenty-one years in the U.S. Navy surface warfare community, rising from Seaman to Lieutenant Commander. I later built and sold a financial advisory practice and worked as a business consultant and author. Each season of life required focus, perseverance, and steady commitment.
Oil painting demands the same qualities — with one addition: heart.
Today I create original works and commissioned oil paintings for collectors who want more than decoration. Whether it’s a beloved pet, a meaningful landscape, or a vessel that holds personal history, I approach every canvas with respect for the story behind it.
Growth doesn’t stop. It evolves.
Thank you for being here — and for sharing in this next chapter.
